Before you start
This free tool walks you through writing a simple will, then gives you a ready-to-sign PDF. It takes about 15 minutes. Everything you type stays in this browser — your answers are never uploaded, and we couldn't read them even if we wanted to.
You must be 18 or older and of sound mind to make a valid will.Sec. 59, Indian Succession Act, 1925
You must sign the will yourself, and TWO witnesses must attest it. Each witness must see you sign, and each must sign in your presence.Sec. 63, Indian Succession Act, 1925
No stamp paper is needed. A will printed or written on plain paper is legally valid.
Registration is OPTIONAL. An unregistered will is fully valid — the Supreme Court has held that registration alone does not prove a will either.Sec. 18, Registration Act, 1908
This tool provides general information and a document template, not legal advice. For large or complex estates, or anything you're unsure about, consult a lawyer.
The document itself isn't what makes it legal — printing it and signing it with two witnesses is. We'll walk you through that at the end.
Your progress autosaves to this browser only.
